The purpose of indexes is to help find things in the wiki, not to classify or define the terms indexed. Thus, this index may include some names that may not refer to persons who are or were porn stars. Only a few people work in adult images under his own birth name. Professional names are often chosen to be common or likely. Many porn names happen to coincide with the real names of people who are not in the adult entertainment business. This makes it very hard to research porn stars and causes embarrassment to people whose birth names happen to coincide with ones used by models in the adult entertainment business.

Stars are ordered by first name of the name they appear under. Real names are not published here, even after the death of a model, unless the model voluntarily identified himself in news media or the model is one of the rare individuals who worked under his real name. This list may include some people who worked in adult media but did not perform in sexual roles.

In the gay market in modern times, models often use one name in their entire career. When I know a model has used other names, the other names are entered here, but refer to only one page. I have not attempted to enter names a model has used in the straight market where multiple names for male models is very common.
