xxxWiki Scheduler

The scheduler thinks midnight is Pacific time. Times in event listings are local unless otherwise noted. Blog entries are by UTC. The scheduler lists events at which stars of gay porn appear and selected charitable events. This is a wiki. Question marks with links do not indicate uncertainty, but only that the linked page has not been created.

Welcome

Welcome to Lars Eighner's xxxWiki!

This wiki contains adult material. If you are a minor by the laws of your jurisdiction or are offended by explicit descriptions and depictions of sexual behavior between persons of the same sex, please leave.

The subject of this wiki is all things gay, with particular emphasis on pornography in various forms and media.

The best way to find things in the xxxwiki is to use the search box.

Main Group

Most articles here belong to Main group which is where you are now. This is an encyclopedia-like group. Entries should be articles named by subject and may be hundreds of words in length. Examples would be biographies or videographies of adult stars or producers, articles about particular productions, historic and present-day venues, events in gay history and so forth.

About Star Profiles

While I hope to achieve the highest standard of accuracy in xxxwiki entries, the worst kept secret in the Adult industry is that star profiles often are highly imaginative. Even basic physical statistics (and not always the ones you might expect to be fudged) vary widely from one press release to another. I have tried to strike a balance based on what I can observe in the stills where there is a vast difference. I have taken a very conservative view about revealing the true names of models, even when true names are a matter of public record.

In short, the model profiles are not necessarily true in every or any detail.

Almanac Group

The Almanac is for "This day in history" type entries, with short (like one line) entries for birthday, anniversaries, and historic events. Thus, there is (or will be when it is created, one page for August 15, and events of whatever year that occurred on August 15 would be entered all on that page. This differs from a timeline where there would be different pages for August 15 for each year (in which something happened that is recorded in the timeline).

Page names are of the form January16. A few pages for movable occurrences may have the name of a feast, holiday, and so forth, which should be indexes of when the day fell in various years.

Glossary

Dictionary type entries for words with special meanings in gay speech or industry jargon.

Page names are words. All entries spelled the way should be treated on a single page.

Timeline

Diary entries, memoirs, and short entries about historical events. This differs from the Almanac in that entries are by date, not just day of the year. Contributors can all make entries for any given date.

Timeline page names are mostly of the form 1999December12. There are a few exceptions for events that cannot be given a precise date.

Writers (with passwords)

If you have an account, you can edit nearly every page you can see. Simply click the edit link at the top or bottom of every page.

To add a new page:

  1. Create a link to your page. The obvious place to do this is in one of the index pages.
  2. Editing an index page by adding a line like this:

* [[ Main / Your Page Title ]] The asterisk should be in the first position of the line.

  1. Save the index page. Your new article title should appear on the list as a link with a question mark.
  2. Click the link. You should go to an undefined page. Edit this page and save it to create your article.

If the link did not have a question mark, it is because someone else has written a page with the same name. It may be listed in a different index or it may be an orphan. If the article is about your subject you may want to contribute to the existing article (by editing it). Otherwise, you may want to choose a different title for your article.

Anyone

Those without passwords can contribute drafts, request passwords, or discuss articles. More about these options can be found in these places:

Editing Help

The short help at the bottom of the edit page may not be that much help, especially on esoteric stuff like uploads and images. However, the documentation links below the save button will open in another tab, so you have the detailed help while you are editing. The system-wide upload password is the capitalized first name of the establishment where events occurred that are commemorated by Gay Pride celebrations in the US. The upload lime is 50k and the wiki will not downsize images. You can link to pictures you may have on various picture servers, but do not hotlink to picture you do not own or to pictures on servers you do not have permission to use.

Anyone Can

Writers Can

Writers with passwords can edit almost any page they see. They can also create links to new pages in one of these indexes (use General if nothing else seem to fit.

Indexes are pages like any other. Add a link to your new article to any index. Then follow the link to edit the page with that title.
